Support offered after death of University of Stirling student

3 mins read

The University of Stirling is offering mental health and grief support after announcing the recent death of a student.

The student, Sanskar Shrivastava, was studying the MSc Psychology conversion course at the University.

In an internal statement, the University’s Deputy Secretary Joanna Morrow says the institution understands this is an “upsetting time” for the community and signposted readers to various help points.

Her statement said: “We know that this is an extremely difficult time for those who knew Sanskar personally, and our priority now is to ensure that students and staff affected by Sanskar’s death are supported.

”We recognise this is an upsetting time for our university community and we would like to reassure you that support is available. If you have any further questions on the support available to you, please contact the Student Services Hub.”

This is the third Stirling Uni student death in the past 13 months, after Melissa Young was found dead in the John Forty’s accommodation in October 2025 and 18-year-old Ruben Agado was found dead in the Alexander Court accommodation in February 2025.

There is also still an ongoing appeal for 22-year-old missing student Yuxin Cao, who has not been seen since Monday, September 1, 2025.
