HorrorCon Scotland returned on Saturday April 12 with their premier horror event at the SEC centre in Glasgow, bringing fans together for a day of frights and delights.
Dead by Daylight Experience
Upon entry, Brig headed straight for The Dead by Daylight Experience, where players watch a short briefing video before stepping into the fog as they must work with other players to repair a generator and escape.
The experience was enjoyable, with the killer being suitably creepy. The area was fairly small, but the claustrophobic space made for an intense game. There was the option to hide in a locker, but we couldn’t brave it. However, we escaped! And were rewarded with a nice little photo-op and an in-game rewards card.
The Con had a wide array of stalls selling tons of awesome horror merchandise. The work of PsychoSlaughterman was a particular standout with his amazing choices of horror art prints, including horror movie mashups. Although, there was a wide variety of other traders selling horror artwork to cater to all tastes throughout the venue. As well as plenty selling NECA figurines, books, t-shirts & candles.
Panels
The two panels we sat in on were delightful. Family Splatters where Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie) and Eddy Mackenzie (Blood and Honey 2’s Piglet) were posed horror questions from fans which they had to answer in character. They also made time for some wholesome fan interactions and the audience had a hilariously wicked time.
Dead Meat’s panel was met with a rapturous applause and took on a Q&A format after they were treated to a selection of Scottish whiskey’s. They had some controversial opinions on Sugar Free Irn-Bru, but the audience reception throughout was extraordinary. As was the queue for Photos & Autographs after where they made sure to give each fan plenty of personal interaction. The queue for this was very well handled, with guests given raffle tickets and called over the loudspeaker when it was their time to meet the couple.

Guests
Brig spoke to Felissa Rose who spoke of how much she was enjoying her time in Scotland. She was extremely friendly and bubbly throughout the day and definitely worth meeting. As was Eddy Mackenzie.
Eddy spoke to Brig about his experience at the Con. “This was my second time appearing at Horror Con Scotland, and once again the event was a top notch business! The production team work so hard to create an incredible event and they take such good care of us as guests, giving us everything we need to have a lovely day meeting so many lovely horror fans! I would recommend this event to anyone looking for a fun time!”

If you get the chance to attend the next HorrorCon at Paisley Town Hall this Halloween, we couldn’t recommend it enough! They’ve crafted an excellent Horror community in Scotland and given fans the opportunity to meet their icons.
