Stirling bistro announces closure amidst “growing challenges”

2 mins read

Gabe’s Diner has announced it will be closing its doors for the final time on Sunday, August 3, after facing a number of financial and personal challenges.

On a Facebook status, the Forthside Way bistro said rising costs have put an increased pressure on the business.

After running for 15 years, the owners have said that closing the restaurant may be the “right” choice, but it is also “one of the hardest decisions” they have ever made.

The restaurant was open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 11.30 am till late.

Using locally sourced ingredients, the bistro offered a varied menu that Facebook commenters have said will be sorely missed.

The Facebook post said: “To our wonderful customers – thank you.

“Thank you for walking through our doors, time and time again. For your loyalty, your kindness, and for making us part of your lives. We’ve loved seeing your families grow, celebrating milestones and sharing laughter.

“Serving you has been our greatest privilege.

“And most of all, thank you to our amazing team – especially those who are with us now. Your hard work, heart, and resilience have kept this place going through thick and thin. You’ve shown up with dedication, passion, and a genuine love for what we do – and we could not be more grateful or proud. You are, and always will be, part of our family.

“To all the staff who’ve been part of our journey over the years – thank you for the part you played in building something so special.

“Though the restaurant is coming to a close, the memories, friendships, and sense of community will stay with us always.”
