Donald Trump lives through attempted assassination attempt

1 min read

During a rally on Saturday, former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt.

A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed that one spectator was killed and two others were injured.

Trump himself confirmed he was shot in the ear, clarifying later on social media that he’s “doing well” and that he wants Americans to “stand united”.

He went on to describe his injury, stating that he felt the “bullet ripping through skin”.

The gunman was confirmed to be twenty-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks; who was shot and killed by the Secret Service.

Crooks was a registered republican but he had made a $15 donation to ActBlue, a committee that aids democratic politicians.

The lack of motive has lead to the shooting being classified as an “attempted assassination”.

A couple of witnesses have come forward and discussed how they spotted Crooks on a roof before shots were fired.

Current president Joe Biden has expressed his support and his wishes to speak to Trump, stating that, “There’s no place for violence in this country, it’s sick”.

Trump has confirmed he will be attending this weeks Republican National Convention in Wisconsin and that he’s excited to do so.
