After only six months since the release of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, Focus Entertainment, the publisher behind the much beloved sequel have confirmed a third game is on the way.
Focus Entertainment released a surprise update on the upcoming sequel confirming that it’s currently in development and promising that it’ll come with “an even more immersive experience, staying true to the Warhammer 40,000 universe, with intense, brutal, and spectacular gameplay.”
The runaway success of Space Marine 2 has shone a light on the Warhammer 40K universe as it seems more people than every before have become interested in the franchises grim future and hellish tails of never-ending war.
Matthew Karch, CEO of Saber Interactive, elaborated on Space Marine 2‘s success by stating that, “Space Marine 2 has proven to be a transformative game for Saber. It is the culmination of everything we have learned about game development in our 25 years in the business.”
Within the statement released Saber confirmed they will continue updating Space Marine 2 for many years to come, bringing in new cosmetics and missions until the release of Space Marine 3.
Very few details about Space Marine 3 have been revealed, the only information that’s been provided is a statment from John Bert, Deputy CEO of Focus Entertainment that read “Players can look forward to an immersive campaign, a multiplayer mode, and innovations that will redefine the standards of third-person action games. Developed in close collaboration with Games Workshop, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 will take the genre to new heights by introducing large-scale battles that are even more spectacular.”
