After sixteen years The Cure are back

Goth legends The Cure have returned with a new album, and a single releasing this Thursday.

Sixteen years ago The Cure released 4:13 Dream, an album that has since been forgotten by many fans, but holds a special place in their discography as many believed it would be there last full length album.

Since 4:13 Dream, the band have re-released and remastered almost all of their older albums. Little did anyone know it was all building towards the announcement of their latest album, Songs Of A Lost World.

Songs Of A Lost World has been teased for many years with the title being confirmed two years ago, however many believed Robert Smith and the rest of the band were more focused on remasters and touring, rather than new music.

Through teasers on Instagram fans discovered the release date for the album, November 1st. After enough teasers the band shared a snippet of the first single from the album, Alone.

Alone has the same droney feel much of their 80’s work is known for abd will premier this Thursday on BBC 6 Music, with Mary Anne Hobbs, and will also have a full release later in the day.
