Just a few months after Fontaines D.C released their industry shaking fourth album Romance, they’ve decided to deliver another banger with their latest single It’s Amazing To Be Young.
Following Romance’s 90’s pop-rock hooks, It’s Amazing To Be Young has a pure sense of fun in every guitar line and each lyric spoken by Fontaines immaculate lead vocalist Grian Chatten.
If Favourite was your, pun intended, favourite single off of Romance then It’s Amazing To Be Young will be right up your street.
It’s got a lot of similar elements from Romance that are blended together to deliver a catchy, poppy and undeniably fun track that’s welcoming in Spring with glee.
The song kicks in with an electrifying guitar riff that transitions smoothly into Grian’s soft, but impactful voice. Just like Favourite, this new single is another reflection on youth and the joy that comes with being young.
Fontaines continue to reinvent themselves with every release and it’s never been more clear than it is now. Romance has come and gone, but the waves it has left across the music industry can still be felt.
It’s Amazing To Be Young isn’t a re-invention of Fontaines’ sound but it functions well as a companion piece to Romance and is a must listen for fans of the band.
The release of this single proceeds what’s bound to be a big summer for the lads as in July they headline the iconic Finsbury Park, being supported by bands like KNEECAP and Amyl and the Sniffers.
There’s no better time to be a fan of Fontaines, It’s Amazing To Be Young is a perfect follow up to Romance and is bound to brighten up your day as we get out of these dark nights and into the bright evenings of Spring and Summer.
