A Stirling band has reached No.3 in the music charts- just two spaces behind pop sensation Lady Gaga.
Constant Follower’s moody, atmospheric record The Smile You Send Out Returns To You is on the podium of the Official Scottish Albums Chart behind Lady Gaga’s Mayhem and Jennie’s Ruby.
Scottish music fans are pushing to help the Stirling independent band beat the global icons and take the number one spot on the regional chart.
Spearheading the movement is Ewen Duncan of Europa Music, Stirling’s independent record and music store.
Duncan said: “Seeing an independent Scottish artist rise through the charts like this is rare, but I think it proves people still care deeply about homegrown music.
“Constant Follower’s album is a stunning piece of work: atmospheric, deeply moving, and crafted with real artistry.
“It’s not just a record, it’s an experience, and it deserves to be heard by as many people as possible.”
Alongside Europa, Scotland’s other independent record stores are backing Constant Follower’s efforts to reach number one.
Monorail Music, Music from Big blue, and Some Great Reward in Glasgow are all backing the campaign.
VoxBox Music and Thorne Records in Edinburgh are also supporting Constant Follower.
Dundee’s Le Freak and Montrose’s Mo Fidelity are the final two involved in the campaign.
Amongst the regional champions, Radiohead’s Philip Segway also praised the album, describing it as “gorgeous”.
The record has also received positive reviews Clash Magazine, The Scotsman, Italian magazine Rockerilla, and more.
To get Constant Follower’s album The Smile You Send Out Returns To You, the group is asking people to purchase the album via vinyl, CD, or digital download.
The album was release on February 28 earlier this year.
