GTA 6 Has Been Delayed Till May 2026

Rockstar Games has announced that the long awaited Grand Theft Auto Six has been delayed till 26 May 2026.

In a statement released to all of Rockstar Games’ social media platforms, the company apoligised for the delays and promised a new official release date for the long awaited sequel:

“We are very sorry that this is later than you expected…We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game”

The statement continues to discuss how as a studio, Rockstar seeks to build upon their previous work and continue to improve the quality of their products.

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) was initially set to release Autumn 2025, however no release was given until the announced delay. 

Rockstar has delayed games in the past. Most recently, Rockstar delayed the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 from 2017 to 2018, giving them more time to polish the game.

It’s likely the decision to delay GTA 6 was done for a similar reason.
