TGA's monument in the desert

A Monument in the Desert: The Game Awards 2025 Prediction

2 mins read

The Game Awards premiers tonight. Known to host the biggest video games premiers each year, a mystery has formed around a strange monument built as a teaser for the upcoming show.

The monument, which is made up of what looks like demons, animals and humans all melded together into a disturbing mound, appeared on TGA’s host Geoff Keighley’s social media on November 28.

Alongside the photo, a caption which reads, “The [blank] are silent. [blank] bleeds. New [blank] stir.”

Theories have run a muck since the bizarre photo was posted with some people believing that it is a teaser for certain large franchise games. There’s no doubt that it’s an interesting piece of pre-promotion, but it’s not clear what it could be hinting towards.

Some believe it could be a hint at the next God of War game, or maybe another FromSoftware Soul’s game? Nothing’s been stated as to what the monument truly stands for.

Guessing what the monument is referring to seems like a fool errand, but the best guesses have come from those believing that it could be a teaser for a potential Divinity Original Sin III. A series developed by Larian studios, who swept up 6 game awards in 2023 for their previous release Baldur’s Gate 3.

This guess is mainly based upon the studio stating that they will not be developing another sequel to the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate series, and that they have been working on another project since that game was released.

Nothing is certain when it comes to this monument, but there’s no doubt that it has successfully caused a social media frenzy, and in doing so has drawn many eyes towards The Game Awards tonight.
