We’re almost at the end of the holiday rush, and if you’ve got some last bits of stress over dinner plans and the gifts you’ve still yet to buy, the best thing you can do is slow down.
Though that can seem like a herculean task some days, it’s a necessary practice to enjoy the holidays. To help you slow down, here’s some of Brig’s ideas.
Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, Oh My
As a group of journalists that are fueled by all types of caffeine to keep up with the bustle of news, hot drinks are a perfect practice to help you slow down in many cases.
Especially during the holidays, sitting down to have a cuppa before facing the cold day ahead is a good routine to fall into.
Even if coffee isn’t your hot drink of choice, the sheer variety of hot drinks sold across markets and cafes during winter is astounding.
Books on Books on Books
When it comes to passing the time and relaxing during a stressful day, there’s nothing better than sitting down with a book.
Is there any other form of media consumption that is as slow as reading a book? Not that this is a bad thing, especially if you are needing to unwind during the busiest season of the year.
Whether fantasy is your playground, or you’re into a wee bit of historical non-fiction, picking up a book for yourself, or someone you love, during the holidays is a great way to open up to a calmer festive time.
See Your Pals
It’s hard to make time for everyone during the holiday’s but finding a day to go see some friends can really help to slow things down.
Even if it’s just for a quick couple hours over drinks, seeing someone you haven’t spent enough time with during the year can let you catch up on drama and relax.
No matter what you celebrate or don’t, December is a non-stop blur but the only way to enjoy the fast times is to slow down.
