First year Master’s student Sheraz Nadeem is running for Media Officer in the 2023 Stirling Union Elections.
Sheraz is studying Marketing Analytics at the University and is an international student from Pakistan.
The role of Media Officer involves ensuring that the Media Societies are working together.
He has previously done work as Media and Press Secretary in his home university in Pakistan for two years, so has an understanding of what is expected of him.
Sheraz said of his role: “I arranged a lot of media functions, seminars etc. from students.”
Sheraz is not part of any of the media societies at the university, however, he said “I am part of the media society in my country in university and in my city, e.g. Soorat-e-Haal is one of my favourite media groups and I am a member of this.”
His manifesto says he wants to “re-evaluate the way Stirling University uses media and improve it in any way possible in order to keep you all up to date.”
“I’m also going to be behind the scenes making sure everyone knows what’s going on and when, and that everything is properly organised, arranged, and communicated.”
Sheraz said you should vote for him because “I’m here to listen to you!! So, if you have any suggestions, or if there’s something you would like to see — let me know!! I would love the chance to represent you all.”
You can read his full manifesto here.
Voting opens on Tuesday, February 28 at 10 am and closes on Thursday, March 2 at 5 pm.
