Calum Brown re-runs for VP Education

2 mins read

One candidate has been nominated to fill the vacant Vice President Education in the Students’ Union By-Election.

Calum Brown, who currently holds the position, is standing for re-election after narrowly missing out on Union President last month.

The by-election comes after only three of four sabbatical positions were filled in the Union Elections 2022 which took place in March.

Brown said in his manifesto: “After such a close election for the Union President role and much consideration, I know that I still have so much to give to our student community.

“I want to make real change, regardless of the job title. I am both experienced and determined enough to seek more effective change for your education here at Stirling.

“As mentioned in my previous manifesto for Union President, I do believe consistency and experience are key for effective change.”

Brown promises to work on four areas if elected. He wants to use his experience to; enhance students’ education, complete the Student Mental Health Agreement between the Union and the University, introduce a new gender-based violence model while developing the University’s approach to discipline, and increase inclusivity and accessibility for students.

Voting will take place online from 9a.m Monday 25 April to 6.15p.m Tuesday 26 April.

The results will be published online shortly after voting closes.
