Olivia Rodrigo has released her latest single today, titled Vampire. The ex-Disney actress is best known for her last album, SOUR, which came out in 2021.
Hits such as drivers license, deja vu, and good 4 you became a part of popular TikTok trends. During SOUR’s peak popularity, it was impossible to go on TikTok or other video sites without hearing her pop-rock tracks.
At only 20 years old, it is amazing what Olivia has accomplished. After the popularity of SOUR, her sophmore release had big shoes to fill. Her 2021 album broke records around the world and shot the, then 18-year-old, into stardom.
Unlike most viral sensations, Olivia built her music career in a sustainable way which people remembered, rather than being a fleeting star. The American singer-songwriter stuck to smaller venues as she worked through her music career, slowly making her way into larger performances.
SOUR was filled with teenage angst, pop-rock emotions, leading her music to become relatable for many fans.

Sticking to her well-known alternative-rock/pop style, this song has a blend of soft vocals and piano which build up to a more dramatic point throughout the song. The beginning visualises a girl alone with her thoughts as she plays the keys.
The hum of the room climaxes as drums and guitar are brought in. It depicts the slow release of emotions that accumulate during thinking about a breakup perfectly.
Reaching the centre of the track, Olivia displays a rush of emotions in an exhilarating, thrilling piece. Rather than winding down towards the end of the song, she instead cuts it abruptly as the drums and instrumentals reach a furious pace. Ending on such a powerful note, it amazingly shows the rage that breakups can bring.
