Club and events brand Subliminal Events Scotland have organised Circa 90 – a 90s-themed night for locals to celebrate the start of 2024 listening to the hottest hits of the past.
The Stirling-based brand are bringing the New Year in with a bang for Stirling residents.
The night will feature the iconic Rozalla (Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)) performing live, and a live bagpiper to bring in the bells. Alongside the live performances, Circa 90s DJs and guest DJ Househeadz will be playing dance anthems and club classics throughout the night.
Circa 90 will be held at City Walls in Stirling, which was refurbished recently. The event starts at 8pm and finishes up at 2am.
Subliminal Events
John Devlin, the owner of Subliminal Events Scotland, discussed why they chose a 90s theme for the party.
“The 90s dance scene played a huge part in my early teens,” he said. “I always knew a 90s theme would work.
“Everyone knew an anthem when it was dropped by the DJ, and dancefloors all over the UK were blowing up to [the sound of the 90s].”
When asked about Subliminal’s plans for the future, John said: “After a very successful year of events, both here in Scotland and over in Ibiza, we have already started organising next year’s parties.
“Over the past eight years, Subliminal has celebrated some great parties and continue to do so through 2023-34.”
Subliminal are planning for an Easter Sunday party at the Corn Exchange. Also lined up are rooftop parties at City Walls, and the annual Subliminal Summer Soundsystem at the Old Town Jail. All are to be confirmed, and the brand has a line up of events worked out in Ibiza too.
The idea of hosting at the City Walls bloomed from Subliminal’s past with the venue, when it was the Courtyard.
John said: “The Courtyard played a vital part in warming up clubbers […] so to create a night around that time [the 90s] and bring it back for one night was a no-brainer.”
